We scan the buff Lloyd George envelopes your practice has stored for decades — prepared, indexed by NHS number and delivered into EMIS Web or SystmOne, to BS 10008 and entirely in the UK.

If your practice still holds shelves of Lloyd George envelopes, you're paying for space and slowing down every records request. We digitise the lot — prepared, indexed by NHS number and delivered straight into your clinical system — so a patient's history is one search away, and the cabinets go back to the floor.
A Lloyd George project is a managed back-scanning programme: we collect the envelopes from your practice, prepare and repair the contents, scan every page, index each record to the patient, deliver the digital files and then destroy or return the paper. It runs to a schedule agreed with you, so the practice is never without records it needs.
A scan is only useful if it lands in the right patient record. We index every record by NHS number and patient identifiers and deliver it ready for EMIS Web or TPP SystmOne, or as searchable PDF/A for any other EDMS. File naming follows your practice's conventions so there's no re-keying at your end.
Lloyd George wallets are decades old, thin and often fragile. Preparation — removing staples and clips, repairing and flattening pages, sorting inserts — is done by hand in-house by DBS-checked staff. Faded or handwritten pages are flagged for human review rather than guessed at.
We scan to BS 10008 so the digital records stand as evidence, under an ISO 27001 information-security regime, with quality control on every batch. Originals are destroyed to BS EN 15713 with a certificate of destruction for your audit trail, or returned, or moved into secure medical records storage — your choice.
We start with a free sample so you can sign off image quality and indexing before full production, then collect and digitise to an agreed schedule with a named project manager throughout. Whether it's one PCN practice or a whole federation, the records never leave our accredited UK sites. See medical records scanning for the wider healthcare service, or the cost guide for what drives the price.
Tell us roughly how many Lloyd George envelopes your practice holds and we'll scope a fixed-price project — starting with a free sample.

Lloyd George records are the traditional buff paper envelopes (also called Lloyd George wallets) that GP practices have used to hold a patient's lifelong medical history. Many practices still hold thousands in storage; digitising them frees the space and makes every record instantly retrievable in the clinical system.
We deliver digitised records indexed and ready for the main GP clinical systems, EMIS Web and TPP SystmOne, as well as searchable PDF/A for any other EDMS. Files are named and structured to your practice's conventions so they drop straight in.
Each record is indexed by NHS number and patient identifiers so it maps exactly to the right patient in your system. Indexing is done in-house by our DBS-checked staff — poor handwriting is flagged for human checking, never guessed.
Yes, once you've signed off the digital records. We scan to BS 10008, the standard for the legal admissibility of electronic records, and destroy the originals to BS EN 15713 with a certificate — or return or store them if you prefer.
Entirely. Every Lloyd George envelope is collected, prepared, scanned and indexed in our own ISO 27001-accredited UK facilities by our own staff. Nothing is offshored or subcontracted.
